DoWork for Chrome privacy
Last updated October 4, 2026.
What it does
DoWork for Chrome is the browser side of DoWork, for people at agencies that use DoWork. It does two things, always at the person’s request:
- Do it: makes a change the team has already approved, such as a new bid strategy in Google Ads, step by step in the person’s own browser.
- Ask: answers questions about the page the person is on, and when asked, clicks and types on that page to set things up.
It never clicks Save, Apply, Publish, Pay or anything else that commits a change. It stops, shows the person the button, and the person clicks it.
What it reads, and when
- Only the page in front of the person, and only while they’re running a task or have asked it something about that page.
- The page’s controls (buttons, fields, menus and their labels and values) and its visible text, plus a picture of the page when that’s needed to tell what’s on screen.
- Never password or payment fields. It never signs in for anyone and never enters payment details.
- Nothing in the background. It doesn’t read the person’s browsing history or other tabs.
Where it goes
- What it reads goes to the person’s own DoWork workspace, over an encrypted connection, to work out the answer or the next step. DoWork uses an AI model provider (Anthropic) for that. It isn’t used to train AI models.
- Tasks, chats and the changes made are kept in that workspace. The person and their workspace’s admins can see them.
- Each agency’s workspace is kept apart from every other agency’s.
- Nothing is sold, shared for advertising, or used for anything other than helping the person with what they asked.
What it keeps in the browser
Its sign-in (a token that expires and can be revoked from the workspace’s settings) and the workspace’s name and look. Signing out removes them.
Permissions
- Side panel: shows the steps and the conversation beside the page.
- Access to websites: reads and acts on the page the person asks about. It’s used only at their request.
- Tabs and scripting: open the right page and act on it. Identity: sign in. Storage: remember the sign-in.
